Mechanical Engineering Intern – Summer 2027

This internship will provide an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering to get hands-on experience working with engineers in a metal manufacturing organization. Interns will be called upon to support a variety of activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties to Include:

• Identifying process changes to improve quality and productivity
• Tool design and implementation
• Material flow & handling
• Work instruction updates and development

Must be currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in a Mechanical Engineering degree program

Experience

• Knowledge of computer aided drafting/drawing software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.)
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of CAD packages

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms, including reaching overhead and outward frequently. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee will frequently walk. The employee must be able to lift and/ or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are also required.
