Jacobs seeks Mechanical Engineering Interns focusing on HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for building projects. Location options include Conshohocken, PA; Indianapolis, IN; and Cary, NC, with a hybrid work approach.
You will perform system design calculations under Professional Engineers guidance, gaining hands-on experience in heating, cooling, domestic water, waste and sprinkler design, while contributing to building safety and project delivery.

We’re seeking Mechanical Engineering Interns with an interest in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems in buildings to join our Life Sciences North America team. Location options are Conshohocken, PA, Indianapolis, IN, and Cary, NC. You’ll have the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it to solving today’s challenges. This intern position will ideally start in May 2027.
As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide by providing a range of engineering services.
You’ll be responsible for providing system design calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering) under the guidance of Professional Engineers. You’ll use your skills and experience to help deliver and complete challenging and engaging projects. You’ll assist in the design of heating and cooling systems, domestic water and waste systems, and sprinkler systems while also helping develop the plans for the overall building safety.
You’ll also take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

The base salary range for this position is $50,800.00 to $60,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
