Job summary

Rainmaker is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer for our UAS platform in California. You will report to the Lead Mechanical Engineer and contribute to mission-critical subsystems, driving rapid prototyping and hardware validation.

You will work with cross-functional teams including electrical and software engineers, and manage test fixtures, documentation, and fabrication data. Prior SolidWorks and FEA experience is essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Cross-functional collaboration with multiple teams across disciplines.
• Experience with CAD software and FEA simulations.
• Experience with basic manufacturing/prototyping using 3D printers.

Responsibilities

• Rapid hardware prototyping for UAS subsystems and iterating based on flight test feedback.
• Design, build, and run test fixtures for prototype components.
• Set up FEA studies and validate results with loading/boundary conditions.
• Write technical documentation and prepare fabrication/assembly data.
