Job summary

The Toro Company in Perry, Oklahoma offers a 2027 Summer Internship Program from May 17 to August 6. Interns will work on designing solutions for underground construction equipment, support safety and lean projects, and participate in cost-reduction initiatives while learning from cross-functional teams.

Qualified candidates are pursuing Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from ABET-accredited schools, with CAD software experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solidedge, Creo) and strong teamwork

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar engineering discipline preferred from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solidedge, Creo Parametric, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Design solutions or improvements for underground construction equipment and processes.
  • Support safety projects and manufacturing processes as directed.
  • Maintain plant layout for machine moves and cost reduction efforts.
  • Evaluate manufacturing and material handling processes for new parts.
  • Support new part quoting activities and SAP routings.
  • Conduct time studies of part processes.
  • Assist quality engineering with tolerances and process capability studies.
  • Assist in R&D of capital projects and equipment.
  • Support Quality, Maintenance and Lean problem solving activities.
  • Report on project status verbally and in writing.

Job description

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

What Will You Do?
  • Designing solutions or improvements to address current and ongoing issues with underground construction equipment and/or processes
  • Supporting safety projects and manufacturing processes as directed
  • Maintaining plant layout for machine moves and cost reduction efforts
  • Evaluating manufacturing and material handling processes for new parts
  • Supporting new part quoting activities & SAP routings
  • Conducting time studies of part's processes
  • Assisting quality engineering with print tolerances & process capability studies
  • Assisting in the research & development of capital projects & equipment
  • Supporting Quality, Maintenance and Lean operations problem solving activities
  • Frequently reporting verbally and in writing on project status
  • Other duties as assigned
What Do You Need?
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar engineering discipline preferred from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Software: AutoCAD, Solidworks, Solidedge, Creo Parametric, Microsoft suite
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. Desire to learn new skills and maintain knowledge of new technologies
  • Must be independent, self-motivated. Must have interpersonal skills in working with a variety of cross-functional teams
