Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) invites applications for the 2027 Summer Internship in Mechanical Engineering at Vermont Operations, Colchester. The candidate should be between junior and senior year and have taken calculus, differential equations, stress analysis, thermodynamics, physics, mechanical design, and mechanics of materials.

Interns will work on analyses, root cause investigations, design work, testing, and quality assurance for gun systems.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a technical college or degree-seeking program within 2 semesters of graduation.
• No prior experience needed.

Responsibilities

• Supports technical tasks and project support.
• Assists with equipment setup and monitors tests and experiments.
• Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports.
• Learns technical processes and procedures.
• Job shadows other professionals and support staff.
• May assist with documenting procedures or work instructions.
