Job summary

Celestica, a global technology leader, offers a 3‑month Mechanical Engineering Internship in Austin, TX. You will support the Mechanical Design Engineering team in developing mechanical systems for high‑performance computing and data‑center rack solutions, gaining hands‑on experience in CAD, prototyping, testing, and documentation.

You will work with cross‑functional teams, participate in design reviews, and learn engineering processes while pursuing a BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering; sophomore year+ preferred.
  • Fundamentals of mechanics, materials, manufacturing, and drawings.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and dimensions.
  • GD&T knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
  • Organized, self-motivated, capable of task management.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and development of components, assemblies, and systems for computing and data-center rack products.
  • Create/modify 3D CAD models, drawings, and layouts under guidance.
  • Assist with prototype builds, assembly, and design verification activities.
  • Support testing and data collection, including dimensional and force measurements.
  • Help identify design improvements and troubleshoot issues.
  • Participate in design reviews and documentation efforts.
  • Collaborate with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.
  • Follow established engineering processes and product development procedures.
