Job summary

PI (Physik Instrumente), LP is seeking an engineering intern in Shrewsbury, MA. The role partners with product development engineers to gain hands-on experience with precision motion systems and manufacturing processes.

You will prepare drawings, support CAD activities, and work on diverse projects from research to instrument testing. Applicants must be enrolled in mechanical engineering and legally authorized to work in the U.S.; SolidWorks experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time academic program, majoring in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Preference: SolidWorks CAD experience and some exposure to manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detail and assembly drawings for precision motion systems.
• Provide general CAD support to design engineers.
• Generate 2D CAD drawings from 3D solid model layouts.
• Load design information into the PLM system.
• Contribute to a range of projects from R&D to building and testing instruments.
