Job summary

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at the University of Delaware to gain exposure to diverse engineering disciplines. The student will work with multiple managers, complete assigned projects, and maintain customer focus while taking initiative on actions.

The role develops skills in 3D design, FEA, materials processing, metrology, stress analysis, assembly, and signal integrity, through hands-on tasks and collaboration with senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assigned projects and work with various managers and areas within the engineering department.
• Gain exposure to 3D/parametric part design, FEA, and rapid prototyping processes.
• Learn basics of technologies used at Samtec, including stress and force calculations and signal integrity considerations.
• Maintain customer focus and initiate and follow up on action items.
