Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op in Blue Bell, PA to support design assignments while applying engineering fundamentals in a real-world context. You will work with design engineers and drafters to develop drawings and construction documents and gain exposure to project controls and CQV aspects in a life sciences setting.

You will use CAD tools, manage electrical and document data, and research equipment selections under supervision, developing time

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Proven time management skills to juggle more than one project at a time.
• Customer Service experience with strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist design engineers and drafters to execute design drawings and specifications to support projects.
• Ensure code and statute compliance in all projects.
• Use CAD technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
• Archive and retrieve data from the electronic database for project support.
• Research equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
• Become proficient in the use of CAD applications.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area for efficient access to project information.
• Inform Project Designer/Engineer of workload and request work when needed.
• Perform special projects as assigned.

Mechanical Engineering Co-op – Blue Bell, Pennsylvania

In this role, you will be involved in the application of engineering fundamentals and project-related services in support of design assignments. This developmental position enables the Designer to learn to apply theoretical knowledge to practical application.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work with assigned design engineers and drafters to execute design drawings and specifications as required to support assigned projects.
• Ensures code and statute compliance in all projects.
• Use computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
• Routinely archive and retrieve data from the electronic database for support of work.
• Research equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
• Expected to become proficient in the use of a computer for Design and CAD applications.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area, which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.
• Keep the Project Designer/Engineer aware of workload and request work when needed.
• Special projects as assigned.
