BlackSky is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design spacecraft wire harness systems as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will develop concepts and mature them through CAD modeling, manufacturing drawings, and production support for space hardware.
Responsibilities include creating routings, documenting schematics and BOMs, and supporting manufacturing with design intent and issue resolution.

As a Mechanical Engineer on our Wire Harness Team at BlackSky you will develop wiring interconnect solutions for spacecraft components, instrumentation, and ground support equipment that fully integrate them into functional systems. You will support the full program lifecycle—from concept to production—and be involved in the development, design, test, and production of our satellite systems, components, and supporting hardware. You will develop initial concepts of space-vehicle wire harness system layouts and ground support equipment based on requirements and objectives, and then mature those concepts through CAD modeling, material selection, manufacturing documentation, and production support. You will interact with flight, prototype, and ground support hardware as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary technical team focused on producing state‑of‑the‑art satellites. This position reports to the Director of Mechanical Engineering and is a hybrid role based out of our Tukwila, WA office.
The anticipated salary range for candidates in the Great Seattle Area, WA is $100,000 – $130,000 per year. The final compensation package offered will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi‑state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside the Great Seattle Area.
