Job summary

Novia-Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support engineering and sales, handling job submittals and technical questions. Responsibilities include designing vibration-isolation systems, performing load calculations, and creating bracing plans in a fast-paced environment.

You will model Novia products in 3D and use RAM Elements, SolidWorks and Autopipe to ensure compliance with codes and project specs. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; will receive position-specific training.
• 2+ years of experience in vibration isolation, equipment manufacturing/engineering, or industrial construction.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication; friendly and well spoken.
• Strong computer skills: AutoCAD, Excel, Bluebeam PDF, email and data entry.
• Willingness to learn SolidWorks, PowerPoint, RAM Elements & Autopipe.
• Able to work under time pressures, set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Read and interpret building plans & specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail vibration-isolation roof curbs, rails, bases for seismic, wind and dead loads.
• Perform seismic and wind load calculations for mechanical/electrical components and systems.
• Create bracing plans and installation tie-down details for components and systems.
• Design and detail structural rails/bases for point support on vibration-isolation devices.
• Design vibration-isolation systems per specs, ASHREA recommendations and standards.
• Submit design for review by in-house/consulting PE in the project state.
• Interpret building codes for wind, seismic, snow and dead loads on non-structural components.
• Apply AISC, ACI, and related standards for attachment requirements.
• Provide guidance to project engineers of record and field technical support.
• Assist sales with information and presentations; communicate with customers.
