Job summary

Quanta Power Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to design, develop, and document mechanical systems and assemblies, creating detailed 3D models and drawings to support from concept through manufacturing. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and safety requirements.

A strong background in CAD and GD&T, plus 10+ years of experience, is required; the role offers opportunities for mentorship

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software: SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, PTC Creo.
• Strong GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, or assembly.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and standards.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings.
• Design mechanical components, equipment, and systems based on engineering requirements.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and revision records.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and vendors.
• Perform tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes.
• Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvements.
• Review and approve drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance.
• Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners regarding design requirements.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation activities.

About this Role
