Job summary

Alcoa is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support development and commercialization of innovative technologies at the ATC in New Kensington, PA. The role combines mechanical design, equipment development, troubleshooting, and project execution in a fast-paced R&D environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, technicians, and operations partners to drive innovation, improve equipment performance, and deliver practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 4–8 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience managing engineering projects from concept through implementation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical advisor for programs and projects, guiding cross-functional teams.
  • Support development, evaluation, and implementation of solutions to improve product performance, reliability, safety, and cost.
  • Lead multiple capital and expense projects from concept through execution, including scope, budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment.
  • Drive design improvements through analysis, testing, and root cause investigations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, fabricators, contractors and external partners to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
