Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Principal to lead design, integration, and testing of C5ISR systems for NAWCAD-WOLF. You will guide engineering direction, analyze interfaces, and ensure compliant installation aboard US Naval vessels.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of related experience, including 3+ years with blueprints and Ship Installation Drawings (SID). A Secret clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI may be required. On-site in CA/MD with travel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related engineering experience, with at least 5 years in design, implementation, integration, systems testing and interoperability studies for C5ISR.
• At least 3 years reading, interpreting, and understanding blueprints, drawings, schematics, and Ship Installation Drawings (SID).
• PMP certification preferred.

• Lead, manage, and support engineering direction and guidance for design, development, integration and interface design analysis, installation, integration, fielding, field analysis, operation, maintenance, and testing of systems.
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to drive system design and integration decisions that ensure interoperability and mission readiness for C5ISR systems.
• Drive system-level outcomes by planning and executing rigorous systems testing, analyzing results, and resolving integration challenges in complex operational environments.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Experience: 8+ years of related engineering experience. Of the minimum 8 years of experience required, at least 5 of those years must involve design, implementation, integration, systems testing, and interoperability studies related to C5ISR systems. At least 3 years of experience in reading, interpreting, and understanding blueprints, drawings, schematics, and Ship Installation Drawings (SID).
• Technical skills: Demonstrated expertise in system design, development, integration, interface design analysis, installation, fielding, field analysis, operation, maintenance, and testing of systems; advanced proficiency in interpreting engineering documentation including SIDs.
• PMP-certification preferred.
• Security clearance level: Must have ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance; able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• US Citizenship required.
• Role requirements: On-site presence at California, Maryland, with occasional travel and collaboration across geographically dispersed teams.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
