Job summary

Alleima Special Metals in Kennewick, WA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive continuous improvement across our specialized manufacturing operations. You will serve as a SME for equipment, lead projects, and develop innovative mechanical designs to enhance performance and safety.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manufacturing experience, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency with SolidWorks, plus knowledge of maintenance-related statistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar design software.
• Working knowledge of statistical analysis methods for maintenance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Act as project leader for assigned engineering projects.
• Develop and implement original mechanical designs that improve equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
• Revise and optimize existing equipment designs to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate mechanical design documentation, drawings, and engineering records.
• Specify, procure, and manage installation of assigned equipment and upgrades.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support manufacturing process improvements through engineering analysis and data-driven decision making.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
