Mechanical Engineer (Ph.D.)

Location: Menlo Park, CA

Position Type: Full-time

Salary Range: USD $135,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 per year.

Opportunity

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Mechanical Engineering Practice in Menlo Park, CA. The role will develop consulting practice through technical expertise and effective communication.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, managers, clients, and administrative staff.
  • Conduct hands‑on failure analysis.
  • Plan and execute laboratory tests.
  • Perform calculations and analysis.
  • Create written reports and presentations.
  • Perform field inspections.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or a related field; completion prior to employment required.
  • Specialized knowledge in gas dynamics, mechanical testing, design of experiments, data acquisition, and instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of computational methods (finite element analysis, CFD) and platforms such as MATLAB.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project ownership characteristics.
  • Ability to work within project teams, lead technical and project management activities, and seek new client relationships to grow a client base.
  • Ability to convey technical information to individuals in engineering, business, legal, and related industries.
  • Currently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship required.
