Job summary

Emerson in Mansfield, MA is seeking an Engineering Professional to gain experience in valve design for nuclear power and Navy applications. You will work on design changes, sizing and selection, and product enhancements.

Responsibilities include reviewing customer specs, producing CAD models and drawings, providing technical support to quality, manufacturing, sales and purchasing, and performing stress analyses and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience as a mechanical or product engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical knowledge of valves and valve products.
  • Familiarity with ASME Codes and Standards.
  • Familiarity with product data management software and development of bill of materials.

Job description

If you are an Engineering Professional looking for an opportunity to gain experience, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Mansfield, MA location, you will be part of the team that produces pressure relief valves for nuclear power plants as well as valves for US Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. Safety and quality are paramount and as the mechanical engineer you will work on a variety of tasks from design/drawing changes to product enhancements, and product sizing and selection.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a similar Engineering Technology degree
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years’ experience as a mechanical or product engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably with an engineered-to-order product.
  • Familiarity with product data management software and development of bill of materials.
  • Technical knowledge of valves and valve products
  • Familiarity with ASME Codes and Standards

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy is simple: We pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The total target comp range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
