Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in Medical Devices as a Product Development Engineer.
  • Experience in design and material selection for production parts; familiarity with DFM/DFA concepts.
  • Ensure timely investigation of product complaints and quality events with remediation plans.
  • Ability to present root cause analysis to clients and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with ECN, ECR, and DCO processes.
  • Experience with EPDM/PLM for lifecycle management of components.
  • Identify areas for product quality improvement and propose solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and proactive stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product development for medical devices from concept to production.
  • Identify suitable materials, perform DFM/DFA reviews and optimize designs.
  • Investigate quality events and develop remediation plans with root-cause analysis.
  • Present findings to clients and cross-functional teams with clear action plans.
  • Manage engineering changes (ECN/ECR/DCO) and PLM/EPDM workflows.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for procurement and clarification needs.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify and validate designs.
  • Adhere to NPD processes and medical device compliance requirements.
  • Utilize GD&T in drawings and model reviews; work in sprint-based environment.

Role / Responsibilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Min 10+ yrs of Exp in Medical Devices as Product Development Engineer role.
  • Hands on experience in design and to Identify suitable material for the production parts, DFM/DFA concepts in product design, Familiar with latest engineering technology and production processes.
  • Ensure that product complaints and other quality events are investigated in a timely fashion and create plans for remediation.
  • Ability to present and articulate the root cause analysis for the specific problem statement and technical issue to the client.
  • Hands on experience in Engineering change management (ECN, ECR and DCO).
  • Hands on experience in EPDM / PLM for managing lifecycle of the components.
  • Ability to Identify areas of improvement in products quality and propose solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and proactiveness to connect with various stakeholders and present the status & change ideas.
  • Able to interact with suppliers and other stakeholders for procurement & clarifications.
  • Developing and executing tests plans to verify and validate the product design.
  • Experience in handling Lab instruments and electro-mechanical products.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software (Creating 3D models, Sheet Metal, 2D drawing and Assembly)
  • Experience with standard NPD process.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Experience in Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Hands on experience in creating design methodologies, planning and executing design reviews including documentation.
  • Experience in sustenance projects and medical device standards is an added advantage.
  • As an individual contributor, expected to have experience in a sprint-based agile environment.
  • Monitoring overall progress and reporting project progress to Senior Management.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $40.00 per hour

Pay Range Maximum: $60.00 per hour

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
