Job summary

The Talent Mine is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer, Modular R&D for a full-time, in-office position in Austin, Texas. You will work in R&D for a client focused on delivering massive compute power by rethinking every layer of the stack, building data centers and operating them to scale.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical systems for complex products or modular construction.
• Ability to produce clear drawings that fabricators can follow.
• Experience supporting production launches and design iterations.

Responsibilities

• Engineer the mechanical systems of the modular product: cooling, piping, and airflow from concept to released drawings.
• Own the liquid cooling loops, pumps, and heat rejection design the modular product's density depends on.
• Solve the integration problems where mechanical meets structure and electrical: routing, interfaces, and tolerances.
• Support the factory and field: mechanical RFIs answered same-day, fixes engineered into the next revision.
• Prototype and validate: mockups, fit checks, and first-article reviews you attend in person.
