Job summary

Archer is seeking a highly motivated intern for the High Voltage Battery Pack Mechanical Design team for Summer 2026. Based at Archer's headquarters in San Jose, CA, you will help with mechanical design, build, and test of battery packs for the Midnight aircraft.

The role requires enrollment in a relevant engineering degree, hands-on experience, and strong problem-solving abilities. The internship runs for 10 weeks with set start/end dates and will not provide relocation housing.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent major (Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
• Must have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework (rising Junior or Senior)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience through previous internships, academic projects, or personal hobbies (robotics, maker projects, automotive work, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Can-do attitude, ready to learn and hit the ground running
• Bonus Qualifications: proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX); experience with prototyping in machine shops; involvement in clubs such as Formula SAE, Solar Car, Baja, etc.

• This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. Program dates are:
  • May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026
  • June 15, 2026 - August 21, 2026
    • *We will not be able to accommodate interns outside of these two program dates.
• This role will be based at Archer in San Jose, CA
• Relocation and housing will not be provided.
