Job summary

Alto-Shaam is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to design and analyze new or updated foodservice equipment. You will work under Engineering Management to ensure products meet specifications, cost targets, and regulatory requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, 4 years of engineering experience, and proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 4 years of experience in engineering.
• Strong grasp of engineering concepts and electro-mechanical concepts.
• Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of Agency and Certification Standards (UL, Energy Star, ASTM).
• Manufacturing awareness including sheet metal fabrication and injection molding.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize, and create designs for new or updated products with focus on quality, cost, manufacturability and compliance.
• Develop testing processes and validate new designs; document results and recommendations.
• Coordinate pilot builds for testing and customer field trials during NPD process.
• Perform engineering calculations and apply analytical methods to support design work (e.g., FEA/CFD).
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications; suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers to execute deliverables.
• Document design progress and ensure adherence to New Product Development processes and budgets.
