Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks an engineer with a STEM degree and at least two years in engineering design to support harnessing requirements, system architecture and verification activities within the PCAS organization.

What You Will Do
  • Work autonomously with regular and periodic oversight, have knowledge of the harness and interconnect domain, and coach and review the work of other professionals.
  • Support may include but is not limited to detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals and estimates, or earned value management.
  • Flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.

The PCAS organization provides ample opportunities for hands-on hardware work. PCAS engineers are exposed to a variety of lab activities including engineering builds, hardware integration, and hardware verification. The PCAS organization provides a strong technical learning environment with a dedicated technology pyramid comprised of engineering fellows. PCAS engineers are provided the opportunity for direct access to these subject matter experts, fostering accelerated technical growth.

Qualifications
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience.
  • Experience with development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance & function, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Experience working with a wide variety of industry / military standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with any Harness and Interconnect systems.
  • Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation.
  • Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components.
Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
