Job summary

Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS) seeks a Mechanical Engineer II for the Device Assembly Facility at NNSS. You will maintain system cognizance, provide operations and maintenance support, and assist line management with safety responsibilities to keep systems ready.

You will validate configurations, manage CM documents, perform design and technical analyses, coordinate with other departments and vendors, and help develop field programs and designs in a safety-conscious environment near

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or calculus-based STEM degree in engineering.
• Professional Engineer license or NCARB certification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or graduate research recognized.
• Ability to interpret codes and standards applicable to the position.
• Strong time-management, organization and communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cognizance of assigned facility systems for readiness.
• Provide systems engineering support for operations and maintenance.
• Validate physical configuration and manage CM documents.
• Perform design and technical analysis using codes, standards and tools.
• Coordinate with other departments and outside vendors.
• Develop field programs and preliminary designs using established practices.
