Job summary

BKV Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer II (PE) with 5-10 years of licensed experience to join our Washington, DC team in Georgetown. The candidate will lead mechanical and plumbing design, develop load and ventilation calculations, and document systems with Revit and related tools on multi-family, commercial, and government projects.

The role requires strong communication with clients and internal teams, ability to supervise Engineers in Training, and commitment to design excellence.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer with PE (or equivalent).
• 5–10 years’ licensed experience in HVAC and plumbing design.

Responsibilities

• Design Mechanical and Plumbing systems including load/ventilation calculations.
• Lead Engineers in Training and Designers on projects.
• Model and draw using Revit; ensure technical accuracy.
• Coordinate design with other discipline leaders on projects.
• Ensure complete and accurate engineering documentation.

Job description

BKV Group seeks a talented Mechanical Engineer II (PE) with 5-10 years as a licensed professional with HVAC and Plumbing design experience to join our Washington, DC team in Georgetown. We are looking for someone with engineering experience in all aspects of design and documentation, preferably with leading edge multi-family housing, commercial and local government clients. Project related responsibilities include the following:

• Responsible for Mechanical and Plumbing systems design including Load calculations, Ventilation calculations, Equipment selection, Air distribution systems, Hydronic Systems, Plumbing Systems, Code Evaluations, etc.
• Provide leadership and guidance for Engineers in Training and Designers working on assigned projects.
• Responsible for Mechanical and Plumbing system modeling and drawing preparation using Revit.
• Responsible for the design process coordination of the engineering discipline with the other discipline leaders on assigned projects.
• Responsible for the technical accuracy and completeness of the engineering documentation for BKV Group on assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Mechanical Engineering Professional license required.
• 5-10 years’ experience as a licensed Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience with Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software.
• Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 annually or commensurate with experience.
