Riverside MFG is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II in Fort Wayne, IN to support design, testing, and documentation of mechanical components and systems for our products and manufacturing operations. You will work with cross-functional teams and mature under guidance of senior engineers.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer II works under the direction of the Director of Engineering to support the design, testing, and documentation of mechanical components and systems for Riverside MFG's products and manufacturing operations. This role partners with cross-functional teams to help deliver solutions that meet technical specifications and quality standards, working with growing independence under the guidance of senior engineering staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Development

  • Support the design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical devices, components, or systems
  • Collaborate with other departments during product specification, design, and production launch activities
  • Prepare and process Engineering Change Requests under the guidance of senior engineers

Project & Stakeholder Support

  • Assist in tracking project timelines and help ensure deliverables meet technical specifications
  • Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and coordinate with external suppliers as directed
  • Contribute to design reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a mechanical design engineering role
  • Must be US Person per ITAR compliance

Preferred

  • Experience with 3D solid modeling software, Autodesk Inventor preferred
  • Exposure to 3D printers for design validation and protaturing
  • Exposure to production fixtures and automation

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is based primarily in an office and shop-floor environment, with regular time spent on the production floor supporting design validation, prototyping, and testing. Occasional domestic travel may be required to support supplier visits or program reviews.
