Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Engineer in Marlborough, MA. You will ensure structural and thermal design robustness across Raytheon products, using classical methods and finite element tools, validated by tests, to deliver cost-effective solutions.

You will perform analyses, develop test plans, review results, and generate detailed technical reports, collaborating with experienced analysts and presenting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent.
• Academic or professional experience in structural design and analysis.
• Academic or professional experience with any of the following tools: PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis.
• Perform detailed structural analyses to solve various program structural design challenges.
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring the technical accuracy of work product.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.

What You Will Do

As a Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Engineer for Raytheon, you are responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products. From preliminary concepts to fielded weapon system support, MA&T delivers innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental & empirically based techniques to state-of-the‑art finite element methods leveraging industry leading commercial tools; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Matlab
• Experience in Structural test and instrumentation
• Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

• Relocation Eligibility

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
