Duke Energy is seeking an entry-level engineer to support Electrical and Control systems within the Power Block, providing daily operations support and developing preventive maintenance and outage plans. You will coordinate with OEMs and internal teams, review inspections, and contribute to safety analyses while delivering engineering analysis and technical support.
Open to May 2027 graduates with a BS in engineering (ABET-accredited); MS may be considered.

This is an entry level engineering position within Duke Energy's Engineering job hierarchy. This Engineering position is responsible for Electrical, Control systems, and processes. This includes two GE 7F Combustion Turbines, one GE Steam Turbine and auxiliary equipment such as HRSGs, feed water system and fuel systems. Provide day-to-day operational and maintenance support of the station's Power Block. Develop preventive maintenance and outage plans, update procedures and technical documents. Identify and manage O&M and capital project scopes. Coordinate with OEMs and internal teams; review inspections and corrective actions. Ensure compliance with PSM Guidelines. Provide engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and technical support. Participate in safety reviews, hazard analyses, and incident investigations. Oversee equipment performance and communicate maintenance needs.
