Responsibilities

  • Assist in design, installation, modification, analysis, testing, and repair of mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to implement procedures and troubleshoot issues.
  • Evaluate proposals for feasibility, cost, performance, and maintenance considerations.
  • Investigate failures and recommend corrective actions for maintenance and operations.
  • Confer with management to implement plans and justify projects.

Job description

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer I supports the design, fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical and electromechanical equipment, systems, and components. This role helps ensure that manufacturing processes and equipment meet quality standards and operate efficiently. The engineer assists in evaluating designs, diagnosing equipment issues, and recommending improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness. Occasional assessment of field installations and suggestions for design modifications may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design, installation, modification, analysis, testing, and repair of mechanical systems, tools, engines, machines, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to implement operating procedures, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and exchange technical information.
  • Review customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and related documents to evaluate feasibility, cost, performance, and maintenance considerations.
  • Specify system components or support product modifications to ensure alignment with design intent and performance requirements.
  • Investigate equipment failures and performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions for maintenance and operational teams.
  • Confers with Management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Develops management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, and job evaluation and project justification.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s (B.S) in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of applied mechanics and design engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with design optimization, design reviews, prototyping, and related engineering practices.
  • Experience using CAD and CAE software tools.
Preferred Skills:
  • Sigma methodology, lean manufacturing, statistical process control.
  • ISO-9001 or 9002 standard
  • Robotics, open die extrusion and cold forming, open die hot forging.
  • Steel welding (MIG, TIG, SAW)
  • Heat treatment, shot blasting, machining, conversion coating, painting and assembly.
  • Trouble shooting, process improvement and project leadership.
Other Requirements:
  • Travel: < 25%
  • Work Environment: Manufacturing/office work environment.
  • Background Investigation / Drug Screen / US Person: Required.
