PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for the design of fire protection systems for projects of all sizes, from schematics through construction administration.

TYPICAL DUTIES

1. Design fire protection concepts and manage documentation throughout the project lifecycle, from schematics to construction.
2. Oversee project team members and delegate fire protection tasks.
3. Develop and monitor project work plans.
4. Conduct and document code research relevant to each project.
5. Participate in project meetings as needed.
6. Coordinate regularly with other disciplines.
7. Review documents and submittals during bidding and construction phases.
8. Ensure quality architectural and engineering services within the project team.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Professional Fire Protection Engineer license required.
3. Authorization to sign and seal fire protection work.
4. Minimum of ten years' experience in the A/E industry.
5. Extensive experience in fire protection design.
6. Proficiency with Revit software.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Excellent organizational skills and ability to motivate and mentor staff.
9. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
10. Ability to work effectively under deadlines and with others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to travel to project sites for meetings and inspections.
2. Access to and evaluate existing and new project sites.
3. Use of communication and documentation equipment.
4. Visual acuity to perform job responsibilities.
