Qualifications

• Must be a current student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and returning to school full-time after the internship.
• Excellent communication skills and basic math/bookkeeping skills.
• Familiarity with Microstation, AutoCAD and/or other CAD software.
• Computer proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks/calculations.
• Write basic functional descriptions of different mechanical systems.
• Field verification of existing conditions.
• Research to find equipment to meet specified requirements based on the calculations performed.
• Prepare CAD layouts and drawings on Microstation or Autocad.
• Work with contractors to get projects implemented/installed.
• Prepare engineering documentation for various projects being performed by engineers.

Competitive Weekly Pay Period

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will assist the Manager – Process Engineering and other project engineers with process engineering & facilities related tasks associated with engineering projects. Process & Facilities projects are related to electroplating, finishing, painting, waste treatment, system design, building design and construction, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, building renovation/remodeling projects, equipment replacements and upgrades, plant rearrangement, machinery installations and moves, and modifications to existing process systems including plating, finishing, polymers.

• Must be in good standing as a student at the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level at an accredited university majoring in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and returning to school full‑time at the end of the internship.

• Familiarity with Microstation , AutoCad and/or other CAD software.
• Computer proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel.
