About Us:
Located in Ballston Spa, New York, the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site's Facilities Engineering organization is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing facility infrastructure critical to our mission. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer with us, you will play a key role in supporting the design, maintenance program, and optimization of mechanical facilities systems crucial to sustaining Navy training operations and a professional work environment for the approximately 2,000 people that call Kesselring home.

Site Mechanical Engineering provides timely, high-quality, integrated, and customer service-based engineering solutions for site facilities systems. Areas of engineering cognizance can include potable water systems, wastewater and sanitary water systems, boiler systems, and compressed air systems. Our team works directly with operations, maintenance, and compliance peers to tackle diverse challenges, supporting both construction projects and ongoing site operations.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelors degree or higher in a related Engineering field
• Cumulative minimum GPA 3.0/4.0

Work, College, Project, or Intern experience in:

• Engineering design, troubleshooting, and/or repair
• Reviewing, interpreting, and documenting comments on technical drawings and documents
• The development of engineering documents (engineering analysis, technical specifications, functional requirements, cost estimates, drawings)
• Regulatory requirements (examples: Department of Health, Department of Environmental Conservation, etc.) and their applicability to facility and infrastructure systems
• Familiarity or experience with facility and infrastructure systems including operating systems such as water distribution, steam and condensate, compressed air and chemical/wastewater processing

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
