Job summary

Applied Physical Sciences Corp (APS) seeks an entry level Mechanical Engineer to join our Pawcatuck, CT team. You will perform design and hands-on work to support fabrication, assembly and testing of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems in the lab, at Navy facilities, and at sea.

The successful candidate will model components in CAD (SolidWorks) and conduct basic FEA, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering and at least 6 months of internship experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering with at least 6 months of relevant internship experience.
• Entry-level position; ability to perform design and hands-on work in lab, field, and at sea.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and analyses of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
• Create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Assist fabrication, assembly, testing, and rework of components and systems.
• Collaborate with senior staff and manufacturing to ensure designs are fabrication-ready.
• Review and document test results and write technical documentation.
