An established industry player is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team. Job description

Mechanical Engineer (ASME) - $135K (Direct Hire)

This position is a DIRECT HIRE ROLE from day one.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and calculations of ASME code stamped product
  • Responsible for the design, calculations, and analyses of industrial equipment
  • Selection of mechanical components including seals, bearings, motors, pumps
  • Code calculations and design reports
  • Fabrication and machining drawings and Customer drawings
  • Equipment and piping layouts
  • General arrangement and assembly drawings
  • Installation, operation, and maintenance manuals
  • Design of fixtures and tooling for large-scale manufacturing operations
  • Coordinate with cross functional departments
  • Review or develop technical specifications for projects and equipment components
  • Perform finite element analyses when necessary (structural, thermal analyses) and document findings through presentations or reports
  • Someone with analytical/technical skills, and experience with stress analysis will be a plus!

Qualifications:

  • BSME degree and at least three years of experience
  • Experience with Industrial machine design, Design of dynamic or rotating equipment
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
  • Exposure to pressure and/or thermal stress analysis
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphical communication skills
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and generating engineering drawings; familiarity with GD&T principles and drafting standards
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, Draft Sight/AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly and be capable of interfacing with manufacturing personnel
  • Experience working with SolidWorks PDM (Enterprise/Professional desired) in a multi-user environment or similar PLM/PDM system
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize component or assembly designs for manufacturing, part count reduction, material savings, and manufacturability
  • Must be familiar with engineering processes, i.e. change procedures, quality control, and approval processes, document control, and file management of CAD data
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate with intent to pursue Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • Proficiency with engineering and manufacturing related modules of ERP systems including Part, Bill of Material, and Method of Manufacture creation and maintenance

Hours:

Monday through Friday – first shift

The salary is up to $135K a year based on experience.
