Job summary

Planet Group in San Diego, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Aerospace & Industrial to lead mechanical design from concept through final drawings for diverse facilities.

Responsibilities include reviewing production drawings, applying engineering concepts, performing field measurements, and compiling data for client presentations. Strong CAD/BIM and communication skills are essential; FE/EIT preferred. Direct hire, market-based compensation.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in mechanical engineering and at least 3 years of experience.
• FE exam completed with relevant experience.
• Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in office software; CAD, BIM, and rendering tools.
• EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design from concept through design completion.
• Review and modify production drawings for diverse facilities.
• Design mechanical components per project requirements.
• Apply engineering concepts, codes, and procedures.
• Research and compile project data as needed by project managers.
• Update drawings in CAD-related software to verify corrections.
• Prepare information for client presentations and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections and measurements for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
