Job summary

Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer A to lead the design of marine systems and machinery from concept through detailed layouts on our Pascagoula, MS site.

You will analyze production constraints, ensure schedule adherence, and perform Pipe-Flo flow analyses while collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams. A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is required, with 10+ years in the field or 2+ years at Associate level.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and conducts the design of marine systems and machinery, considering production, installation, operation, maintenance and repair.
• Responsible for schedule compliance as a team member.
• Performs flow analysis calculations using Pipe-Flo software.
• Ensures compliance with specifications, regulatory requirements and standard practices.
• Responds to and resolves owner and regulatory comments and issues.
• Provides engineering guidance to group leader and other personnel.
• Obtains and reviews vendor information and technical data as required.
• Provides engineering calculations as appropriate.
• Produces sketches, schematics, preliminary layouts, and system function descriptions.
• Provides technical assistance to production.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Accountable for the planning and design of marine systems, machinery installation, products, tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

10+ years relevant industry experience OR minimum of 2 years in Associate Engineering level or equivalent. Experience in mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, and production processes. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Level B: 5 - 10 years experience

Level C: 3 - 5 years experience

Level D: Less than 3 years' experience
