Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Experience in 3D modeling is essential.
  • SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Experience with SolidWorks Simulation and SolidWorks Plastics is a plus.
  • Experience designing plastic parts and mold designs is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Design new or modify existing products to specification.
  • Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Lead manufacturing and testing of new products.
  • Ensures manufacturability within current or proposed manufacturing methods.
  • Leads prototype manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Coordinates with electronics, manufacturing, and drafting teams.
  • Sourcing and selection of components for products.
  • Supports implementation of new or reinvented products in manufacturing processes.

Job description

The mechanical engineer designs new weighing and medical equipment, customizes existing products, interacts with customers and suppliers, and facilitates the manufacturing of our products.

Essential Functions

  • Performs engineering assignments to design new or modify existing products to specification.
  • Designs parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD software packages.
  • Analyses designs with SolidWorks Simulation and SolidWorks Plastic.
  • Designs manufacturable products within the company’s current or planned manufacturing methods.
  • Leads and helps in the manufacturing, assembly and testing of new products and prototypes.
  • Ensures that new products comply with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Coordinates and works with electronics engineering, manufacturing engineering and drafters.
  • Sources and selects components needed for products.
  • Aids in the implementation of new products or reinvented products in our manufacturing process.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
