Job description

Qualifications

• Significant experience with design of new construction and/or retrofit of power generation or heavy industrial facilities, and ability to lead detailed design activities
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles, proficiency with applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements
• Experience in development, preparation and checking of P&IDs
• Experience with overall design and layout of piping systems, pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support design, equipment selection, preparation of inquiry packages/data sheets, and specification of tanks, pumps and balance‑of‑plant equipment; experience with hydraulic calculations
• Proficiency in Pipe‑Flo (or similar software) preferred; strong working knowledge of process equipment including piping, valves (manual, control, relief), pumps, pressure vessels and heat exchangers
• Experience with relief valve and control sizing, and ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and vendors
