Job summary

Amentum in Washington, DC seeks an experienced engineer to research and analyze data from design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of designs or applications.

You will design products or systems supporting facilities, infrastructure, research, or maintenance, and coordinate installation activities, troubleshooting to ensure conformity with engineering designs and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related scientific field and 10–12 years of experience or equivalent.
• Good communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software applications.
• Position may require travel and the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Purpose and Scope

Essential Responsibilities

• Design products or systems in support of facilities' infrastructure, research, or maintenance requirements.
• Coordinate, troubleshoot, and approve installation activities as inspection services to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and specifications.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related scientific field and at least 10 to 12 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Good communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal and scanner, constant use of sight abilities while scanning documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Compensation Details

$20,000-$200,000
