Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Tampa is seeking an early to mid‑career mechanical building services engineer to design systems across commercial and industrial projects.

You will produce drawings, specifications, and calculations for HVAC systems, review work for code compliance, and coordinate with electrical engineers, architects and project managers. You will support site visits and client coordination throughout construction phases, contributing to real project decisions.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in mechanical building services design.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• EIT or working toward PE is preferred.
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

We are partnering with a Tampa based engineering consultancy delivering mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services across a mix of commercial and industrial projects. The team works closely together across disciplines, creating a well coordinated and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing:

Designing mechanical systems across a range of building projects

Producing drawings, specifications, and calculations for HVAC systems

Reviewing work to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards

Coordinating with electrical engineers, architects, and project managers

Supporting site visits, client coordination, and construction phases

What we're looking for:

1-5 years of experience in mechanical building services design

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

EIT or working toward PE preferred

Working knowledge of building codes and standards

Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams
