Job summary

Jedson Engineering seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead or execute discipline scope on client projects in life sciences, pharma/ biotech sectors. Responsibilities include process design with PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, equipment selection, heat and material balances, piping and isometrics, and DCS support.

QA compliance and strong client relationship skills are required. Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and pharma/biotech project experience preferred.

• Site experience in manufacturing or engineering for pharma/ biotech or API networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead or execute process designs including calculations documented on PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, specifications/datasheets, design basis and lists.
• Select and integrate mechanical/ process equipment and plant instrumentation.
• Generate plant heat and material balances and water balances.
• Review and develop piping systems and Isometrics.
• Support control system and logic design for plant DCS systems.
• Participate in internal QA by reviewing work products.
• Support proposal process with scope descriptions, estimates and deliverables lists.
• Assist in developing and growing key client relationships.
• Analyze data during project execution to inform design decisions aligned with codes and objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Mechanical Engineer will lead or execute the discipline scope as applicable in the completion of client projects. Projects in life sciences, pharma/biotech.

• Lead or execute process designs in the form of engineering calculations documented on PFD’s, P&ID’s, general arrangement drawings, specifications/datasheets, design basis, and associated lists.
• Selection and integration of mechanical/process equipment & plant instrumentation.
• Generation of plant heat/material balances and water balances.
• Review and development of piping systems and Isometric drawings.
• Support control system and logic design for plant DCS systems.
• Actively participate in our internal quality assurance process by reviewing and checking process/mechanical group and interdisciplinary work products.
• Support the proposal process by providing scope descriptions, project estimates and deliverables list.
• Support the development and growth of key client relationships.
• During project execution, research and analyze data to make sound design decisions aligned with company, client, and project objectives and applicable codes.
• Drawing from experience, apply theory in a practical context to determine feasibility of design, identify potential process upsets and malfunctions incorporating appropriate remediations, and apply commercially available technology for process execution.
• Observe professional ethics, both in the application of codes and standards and personnel interactions.

YOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND:
