Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking a mechanical engineer to join the CHS global team.

You will design electro-mechanical enclosures, server rack platforms, outdoor cabinets, fixtures and test platforms, performing detail design, thermal simulations, tooling, sourcing and DFMA. Responsibilities include creating detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings, coordinating prototypes with vendors, and ensuring design for manufacturability.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent degree from accredited college.
• 1+ year mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (CREO or equivalent).
• Knowledge of mechanical documentation, tolerancing, and GD&T.
• Experience with plastic injection molded, die cast, chassis sheet metal, and CNC machined parts.

Responsibilities

• Design electro-mechanical test fixtures and development platforms.
• Create detailed mechanical design, including 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Electromechanical chassis and rack design of server test and production platforms.
• Create necessary documentation for sourcing, assembling, and sustaining assembly BOMs.
• Coordinating/sourcing prototype and production components with vendors and manufacturing partners.
• Interface with vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure DFMA and timely builds.
• Develop thermal, structural, and tolerance analyses of mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design and supply chain teams across regions.

Responsibilities include the mechanical design of electro-mechanical enclosures including server rack platforms, outdoor cabinet enclosures, IOT, fixtures, and consumer mobile device test platforms.
