Job summary

Butech Bliss is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze machines, mechanisms, and tooling, and to develop machinery processes. The role involves interpreting blueprints, testing designs, and assisting CAD drawings, with travel to sites and customers as required.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering, AutoCAD experience, 3D software familiarity, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, or reports.
• Test feasibility, design, operation or performance of equipment or systems.
• Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods.
• Develop initial design concepts and perform calculations for layout and detailing.
• Specify system components to meet design and performance specs.
• Assist drafters with CAD-based structural design.
• Investigate equipment failures and diagnose issues.
• Confer with engineers to implement procedures and resolve malfunctions.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
• Comply with safety rules and company policies.
• Travel to customer, supplier, job site, and company locations as needed.

Summary:

Perform engineering duties in planning and designing machines, mechanisms and machine tools and in developing/understanding machinery processes.

Essential Job Functions:

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
• Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
• Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
• Develop initial design concepts and perform calculations to prepare work for layout and detailing.
• Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using computer-assisted design (CAD).
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
• Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Complies with all Butech Bliss safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned by Engineering Management.
• Travel to customer, supplier, job site, and company locations as required.
• Operate a personal or company-owned vehicle for business purposes.
• Transport documents, equipment, parts, materials, or other business-related items as needed.
• Maintain authorization as a Company Driver in accordance with company policy.

Education and/or Experience:

• BS Degree in Engineering.
• AutoCad experience required.
• 3D software experience preferred.
• Proficient computer skills.

Qualifications:

• Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Ability to analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
• Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision or assistance.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must meet and maintain Company Driver eligibility requirements and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must maintain required automobile insurance when operating a personal vehicle for company business.
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight as business needs require.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, reach, push and pull.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
