Maverick Power in Plano, Texas is looking for an engineer responsible for designing custom switchboards and switchgear. This role includes creating bills of materials and developing technical drawings, all while utilizing design for manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with at least 7 years of experience, strong problem-solving skills, and knowledge of applicable UL standards. Benefits include competitive salary, bonuses, and health coverage.
This position is responsible for designing custom switchboards and switchgear, creating bills of materials, developing drawings, seeking alternative components, helping production and other engineering related activities. Utilize ‘design for manufacturing’ principles to reduce system complexity and build time. Designing modular components to reduce manufacturing cost and decrease custom fabrication lead times. Your work will be exciting and varied working on projects which require knowledge of applications, electrical/electronics, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and safety. Never a dull day, and always a challenging problem to solve in a collaborative, goal focused environment.
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
