Job summary

JBT Marel in Chalfont, PA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to design, development, and continuous improvement of automated industrial equipment and material handling solutions.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions from concept to manufacturing, testing, and commissioning. Occasional travel and hands-on problem-solving are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably Creo and Windchill.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communication and teamwork.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Preferred: GD&T, DFMA, PLM, FEA, Python.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD software.
• Create engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Support projects through the product lifecycle from concept to manufacturing, testing, and commissioning.
• Apply lean design principles and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
• Perform engineering calculations and evaluate designs for functionality, safety, reliability, and cost.
• Collaborate with production, electrical and software engineering, purchasing, and service teams to deliver engineering solutions.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to support engineering deliverables.
• Travel (up to 20%) domestically and report onsite in Chalfont, PA.
