As an innovative company offering a wide array of products, we strive to continuously develop new technology and drive process improvement.Position SummaryWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This individual will support the design, development, improvement, and implementation of mechanical systems, equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically minded, and comfortable working directly with CNC equipment and manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, tooling, jigs, and manufacturing equipment.Design and develop custom fixtures and workholding solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, repeatability, quality, and safety.Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, specifications, and technical documentation.Utilize CAD software to develop 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and fixture/tooling designs.Develop and modify CNC programs and machining processes as needed to support production and engineering projects.Utilize CAM software to create, modify, and optimize toolpaths for CNC machining operations.Support the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment and machining processes.Work directly with machinists, CNC operators, technicians, and production personnel to develop practical manufacturing solutions.Assist with CNC process development, tooling selection, workholding, feeds and speeds, and machining optimization.Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, increased efficiency, improved quality, and reduced scrap.Assist with the development, implementation, and validation of manufacturing processes and equipment.Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, fixture, and machining issues and provide practical engineering solutions.Support new product development from concept through production, with a focus on design for manufacturability and machining.Evaluate designs for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, cost, and performance.Collaborate with machinists, technicians, operators, engineers, and other internal teams to resolve production and engineering issues.Develop, prototype, test, and implement fixtures, tooling, and equipment used in CNC and other manufacturing operations.Assist with prototype development, testing, and product validation.Analyze engineering and manufacturing problems and recommend corrective actions or design improvements.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, throughput, efficiency, and process capability.Review and update engineering documentation, work instructions, CNC programs, and specifications as needed.Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to mechanical, tooling, fixture, or manufacturing issues.Work with suppliers and outside vendors when necessary to support tooling, components, equipment, or engineering projects.Maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, programs, and documentation.Follow all company, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Previous experience in a manufacturing, machining, mechanical engineering, or product development environment preferred.Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, machining processes, manufacturing methods, and mechanical systems.Proficiency with CAD software such as Inventor, Seimens NX or SolidworksExperience with CAM software and CNC programming preferred.Practical experience with CNC machining equipment and manufacturing processes strongly preferred.Experience designing fixtures, tooling, jigs, or workholding solutions preferred.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and GD&T.Understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, cutting processes, feeds and speeds, and manufacturability.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing issues directly on the production floor.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with CNC programming, CAM, machining, GD&T, fixture design, tooling, and manufacturing process development is highly desirable. What We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is hands-on, mechanically curious, and comfortable getting out onto the manufacturing floor. This is a role where practical engineering experience and the ability to work directly with production teams are just as important as technical knowledge. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, figuring out why something isn't working, and developing practical solutions that can actually be implemented on the floor. They should be comfortable designing a fixture, creating or modifying a CNC program, working with CAM software, troubleshooting a machining process, and collaborating directly with machinists and CNC operators.Someone who is interested in both engineering design and hands-on manufacturing and wants to see their work move from concept, through machining and prototyping, into production will be a strong fit.Physical and Work Environment Requirements:This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks): stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to — and occasionally exceeding — 50 pounds, view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work.
