Metric is partnered with a rapidly growing packaging automation company specializing in liquid filling and complete packaging machinery solutions. The business is expanding its engineering team to support significant growth in revenue and project volume.

About the Role:

This Mechanical/Project Engineer position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a background in automated machinery, packaging equipment, robotics, or mechatronics. The role involves managing mechanical engineering projects from design through installation and commissioning while collaborating closely with technicians and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept and design through installation and commissioning.
• Design and develop automated machinery and packaging equipment.
• Collaborate with controls engineers, technicians, manufacturing teams, and customers.
• Support equipment assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Provide hands-on support throughout the equipment-development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical or project engineering experience within packaging machinery, industrial automation, or machine building.
• Experience with robotics, mechatronics, PLC-controlled equipment, and multidisciplinary automation systems.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks is strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and project-management capabilities.
• Comfortable working closely with technicians, shop-floor personnel, and engineering teams.
• Must be based within approximately 30 minutes of the Twin Cities area.
• This is an onsite position with no relocation assistance or visa sponsorship available.
