Qualifications

Compensation: $75,000 – $115,000/year (based on experience, location, and skill set)

What You'll Do (Typical Responsibilities Across Client Engagements)

• Design, develop, test, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
• Create and modify 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and engineering documentation
• Use CAD software to develop mechanical designs and product concepts
• Perform basic engineering calculations, simulations, and design analysis
• Support product development from concept and prototyping through testing and production
• Assist with material selection, tolerance analysis, and design-for-manufacturing activities
• Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, software, quality, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and engineering documentation processes
• Support prototype development, testing, validation, and troubleshooting
• Analyze mechanical failures and assist with root-cause investigations and corrective actions
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve design and production issues
• Follow engineering standards, safety requirements, quality procedures, and project specifications
• Participate in Agile, project-management, or engineering development workflows as applicable

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field
• 0–3 years of professional, internship, academic, or hands-on mechanical engineering experience
• Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, manufacturing, and mechanical design fundamentals
• Proficiency with at least one CAD platform such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, or Fusion 360
• Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and dimensioning principles
• Familiarity with mechanical testing, prototyping, and manufacturing processes
• Basic understanding of engineering analysis and simulation methods
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills

• 3D CAD modeling and assembly design
• SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, AutoCAD, or Autodesk Inventor
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar tools
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and thermal analysis
• GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
• CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal, casting, welding, and additive manufacturing
• Materials selection and mechanical characterization
• Rapid prototyping and 3D printing
• Engineering testing, validation, and reliability analysis
• MATLAB, Python, or other engineering analysis/programming tools
• Exposure to automation, robotics, or mechatronics
• Experience with quality methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or root-cause analysis
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, ASTM, ISO, or SAE
• Exposure to electric vehicles, battery systems, aerospace systems, industrial equipment, or other advanced engineering applications
