Connexion Systems & Engineering Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer (Flight Test Instrumentation) for an onsite contract role in Marietta, GA.

Responsibilities include drafting mechanical drawings for C-130, designing and supporting data acquisition systems, and coordinating with cross-functional teams on instrumentation solutions. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical design with CATIA V5 and CCD, plus experience with flight test instrumentation and CREO modeling.

Competenze

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years in part design, assembly design, and drawing in CATIA V5.
• 5+ years with CADAM/CCD or other 2D drafting software.
• 3+ years with test instrumentation (strain gages, transducers, accelerometers).
• DoD Secret security clearance preferred or required.

Description / Public Description

This position supports all Flight Test Instrumentation based out of the Marietta site. Responsibilities will include instrumentation mechanical design and support for AMMM and Advanced Development Programs. Primary responsibility will be drafting mechanical drawings for C-130 aircraft. Candidate will design, develop, document, and support the installation and operation of data acquisition systems for aircraft flight testing. Daily tasks will include mechanical and hardware design and system integration. Designs for instrumentation will include, but are not limited to, strain gages, thermocouples, pressure transducers, accelerometers, displacement transducers, syncros, microphones, calibration methods, and aircraft test instrumentation racks. Will coordinate with the Electrical instrumentation and Systems engineers on the solutions to data acquisition products. Will work with union-represented technicians and mechanics to fabricate and install instrumentation designs. Implement designs with CATIA V5 and CCD (CADAM Computer Drafting). Job is on-site full-time at the Lockheed Martin site in Marietta, GA.

Requirements & Qualifications (Skills / Experience)

Required Skills:

• Bachelor of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in part design, assembly design, and drawing in CATIA V5.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with CADAM Computer Drafting (CCD) or other 2D drafting software.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with test instrumentation (strain gages, pressure transducers, accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.).

Desired Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years with C-130 or other aircraft structural design.
• Experience working in a machine shop with fabrication mechanics.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with CAD Datanet.
• DoD Security clearance at a Secret level or higher.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master's degree or PhD preferred or Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Electromechanical Engineering or related discipline without a degree Candidates must have at least 11 years experience with the following:
• 3D Heterogeneous Integration (3DHI)
• Advanced Packaging
• Technical or project leadership experience supporting the production of high-reliability electronics products
• Microelectronics design
• Proficient in CREO modeling and electromechanical system design
• Project leadership/management experience throughout the engineering/production lifecycle: scoping, sizing, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, tracking, and earned value management (EVM)
• Experience in presentation, oral and written communication to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges between co-workers, leaders, and customers
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
• Experience capturing flowed and derived requirements for electromechanical designs
