Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for the Hesston, KS facility to work onsite with the Hustler team on Outdoor Power Equipment platforms.

Responsibilities include developing designs, managing projects, and coordinating prototype production and BOM updates. You will collaborate with Product Design Groups, Testing, Regulatory, Quality, Product Marketing, and Manufacturing to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical design.
  • Strong design skills including GD&T, drafting, etc.
  • 3D CAD experience; knowledge of ProE/CREO drafting software
  • Knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components preferred.

  • Manages projects to ensure on-time completion.
  • Plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work as a part of major projects or as a total project of minor scope.

  • Works with Test Group to plan and develop experimental test programs.
  • Coordinates building and/or modifying Bill of Material with Manufacturing Engineering Group.
  • Work with research and other engineering groups to prepare design modifications as required.
  • Supports the design-related issues that arise within the product manufacturing facilities.
