Job summary

Flexicrew Technical Services in Houston, TX, is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our team. The role supports inspection, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of pumps, turbines, motors, and related gearboxes while collaborating with internal teams and customers to ensure reliable equipment performance.

Open to both experienced engineers and recent graduates; familiarity with API/ASME/ANSI/ISO standards and CAD software is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Recent graduates encouraged; rotating equipment experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating machinery.
  • Familiarity with vibration analysis, alignment, balancing, troubleshooting, or rotating equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, ANSI, ISO standards preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software preferred.
  • Rotating equipment certifications (API, SKF) are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the repair of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, and gearboxes.
  • Conduct testing and analysis of equipment to verify performance and identify potential issues.
  • Develop work scopes for equipment repairs based on technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Assist with the development of welding procedures associated with rotating equipment repairs.
  • Provide technical support throughout the equipment repair process.
  • Perform or assist with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and failure investigations.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and provide technical input on mechanical and operational issues.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, including equipment performance assessments and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Review technical documentation related to rotating equipment, including drawings, specifications, and service reports.
  • Assist with project budgeting, cost control, and scheduling for rotating equipment activities.
  • Stay current with industry practices, technologies, and advancements related to rotating equipment.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with safety requirements, quality standards, and industry codes.

Houston, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our team. This position is open to both experienced engineers and recent graduates looking to begin their careers in rotating equipment engineering. The Rotating Equipment Engineer will provide technical support for the inspection, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating machinery while working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure reliable and efficient equipment performance.

Requirements/Skill

s:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; prior rotating equipment experience is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of or interest in pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating machinery.

• Familiarity with vibration analysis, alignment, balancing, troubleshooting, or rotating equipment maintenance is preferred.

• Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as API, ASME, ANSI, and ISO is preferred.

• Experience with or working knowledge of CAD software is preferred.

• Rotating equipment or maintenance-related certifications, such as API or SKF, are a plus but not required.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability and willingness to learn equipment repair processes, engineering standards, and industry best practices.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, customers, and other stakeholders.

• Ability to work effectively in an industrial and equipment repair environment.

• Must be able to commute to Houston, TX 77012.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in office, shop, and industrial environments as required.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and navigate equipment repair and industrial work areas.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with applicable workplace safety requirements.
